We attended W. Boyes & Co Ltd store in Nottingham, as well as another site in Tyne and Wear, to complete remedial works. The need for these was identified during DT Services’ scheduled Planned Preventative Maintenance visit.
Effective maintenance by a suitably qualified engineer is a legal requirement, falling under the Health and Safety Executive’s Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998. Regulation 5 stipulates that:
- Every employer shall ensure that work equipment is maintained in an efficient state, in efficient working order and in good repair
- Every employer shall ensure that where any machinery has a maintenance log, the log is kept up to date requires that all work equipment be maintained in an efficient state, in efficient order and in good repair; where any machinery has a maintenance log, the log is kept up to date; and that maintenance operations on work equipment can be carried out safely.
DT Services helped keep the stores compliant with the legislation, and kept their roller shutters working efficiently to prevent any disruption to the store’s use.
