DT Services Ltd installed a brand new shop front door at the Southwood Garden Centre in Cottingham, on the outskirts of Hull.
The door is fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act, which stipulates that doors accessed straight on must:
- have a minimum Effective Clear Opening Width (ECW) of 750mm, or 800mm for new buildings
- a threshold of no more than 15mm
- a visual contrast between the door frame and door itself.
This compliant aluminium glazed door ensures that the company meets its obligations under UK legislation, and can offer an equal service to disabled customers.
